Field & Stream sits on a farm about 9 km from Dullstroom on Tonteldoos Road. Five self-catering units overlook trout dams, a weir, and four kilometres of the Witpoort River.
The farm holds Meike's Mere, Matuka Dam, Williams Favourite weir, and four kilometres of the Witpoort River. Rainbow and brown trout are stocked in the still waters. Wild trout breed in the river rapids. Catch and release is encouraged on the dams and weir. All river fishing is catch and release only. The river closes from 1 May to 31 August for spawning. Flatten hook barbs and wet your hands when handling fish. Fly fishing with woolly buggers, damsel patterns, and midge pupae works well here. Fly fishing catch and release is included when you stay overnight. There is no day fishing for guests who are not staying on the farm.
Field & Stream lies on Tonteldoos Road roughly 9 km outside Dullstroom in the Mpumalanga highlands. Choose from five self-catering units from cosy two-sleeper cottages up to a ten-sleeper lodge. Units have kitchens, fireplaces, covered verandas, and braai areas. Three units are fenced and pet friendly. High-clearance vehicles are recommended on the farm dirt road. Guests can hike the streams, ride mountain bikes, watch birds, or use the conference centre for small groups. Clay pigeon shooting is also available on the farm. Dullstroom shops, restaurants, and fly-fishing suppliers are a short drive away.
