Visarend Kampterrein is a rustic riverside campsite on Doringbos Game Farm near Bloemfontein. Twenty-four stands sit on the Modder River bank with shade trees, braai areas, and river fishing.
The campsite is on the Modder River at Doringbos Game Farm on the R64. Bank anglers target bass, carp, and barbel from the shoreline in front of the stands. The water is calm with reeds and fallen timber along the edges. Confirm fishing rules and any day fees with the venue before you visit.
Visarend Kampterrein has twenty-four camping stands along the Modder River. Each stand can take up to eight guests. The site has no electricity and suits tents, bush trailers, and off-road caravans. Four ablution blocks have showers, toilets, and washbasins. Hot water comes from donkey boilers. Guests can use braai stands, secure parking, a scullery, and a swimming dam on the property. Walking and cycling trails run through the farm bush. Check-in is from 12:00 to 18:00 and check-out by 11:00. The sister Doringbos campsite on the same farm has electrical points and is about five hundred metres from the river. Guests there may fish at Visarend by arrangement. Camping lists from about R440 per night for two guests on booking sites. Day fishing fees were not published at research time. Confirm the price with the venue before you book.
