Olive Hills Soetdoring is the Olive Hills entrance to Soetdoring Nature Reserve on Krugersdrift Dam near Bloemfontein. Camp, picnic, fish, and launch a boat from the Daelesville Road gate.
Krugersdrift Dam holds carp, barbel, yellowfish, and mudfish. The reserve includes the dam surface and Modder River shoreline within 7 500 hectares. Bank anglers and boat anglers both use the Olive Hills entrance when it is open. Papgooi is common from the banks. Confirm angling permits and boat rules with the venue before you visit.
The Olive Hills entrance on Daelesville Road is the operational side of Soetdoring Nature Reserve. The R700 Bultfontein entrance resort is under construction and closed. This side offers picnic sites, camping, self-game drives, and water activities. A rustic bush camp has nine self-catering log cabins and a hall. A conference hall seats about 40 people at the bush camp. Tourist roads cover about 30 km for game viewing in your own vehicle. Gemsbok, springbok, zebra, kudu, and other game occur on the plains and river bush. Gate hours are 07:00 to 18:00. No shop is on site. The nearest shops are in Ikgomotseng (Soutpan), about 10 km away. Bring your own food, braai wood, and fishing gear. Entry, camping, cabin, and angling fees apply.
