Mpumalanga, Ermelo
Tolderia Resort is a countryside stay about 50 km east of Ermelo on the Lothair road. Self-catering chalets and a private dam house sit beside large private dams. Guests fish for bass and barbel from the banks and from complimentary canoes.
The main dam is large with open banks, reed edges and a river arm to explore. Bass are plentiful on soft plastics, jerkbaits and topwater. Smaller bass dams and a trout dam are also on the farm. Barbel are in the system. Kayaks and small boats are available for guests. Confirm the rules with the venue before you fish.
Tolderia has four three-bedroom chalets with heated pools and braais, plus two-bedroom chalets and the secluded Dam House on the water. Chalets have full kitchens, air conditioning and DStv. The rock venue hosts functions. Game viewing, birding and watersports are on site. Guests stay in self-catering units and fish the private dams from the lawn, slipways or boats. Canoes are complimentary. A barge cruise can be booked for groups. The resort suits families and corporate groups. Self-catering chalets start from about R1 600 per night for four guests.
