River Goose Camping is a Breede River campsite near Bonnievale in the Western Cape. Grass stands sit under trees on the bank, with fishing, swimming, and boat cruises on the water.
The Breede River runs past the campsite. Smallmouth and largemouth bass, carp, barbel, and kurper are common here. Fishing is catch and release. Only bass boats and dinghies may be launched. No speed boats. Papgooi works well from the open bank. Confirm the rules with the venue.
River Goose has 22 campsites on grass, most with shade and wheelchair access. Sites share a central ablution block with flush toilets, showers, and hot water. There is no electricity at the campsites. Each site has its own braai. Ice and wood are sold at reception. The venue is pet friendly all year. Swimming, volleyball, a children's playground, and sheep feeding are on site. The Goose river boat runs seven days a week when the river and weather allow. Kayaks and canoes suit the calm water. Credit card payments are accepted. Camping is about R200 per adult per night. Children six and under stay free. Day visitors are not allowed unless you arrange it with management in advance.
