Khomeesdrif Camping is a riverside campsite 7 km from Riviersonderend in the Overberg. Grassed stands sit under poplar trees on the Riviersonderend River with carp and barbel fishing from the bank or a boat.
The Riviersonderend River runs along the campsite. Carp and barbel can be caught from the bank or from a canoe or rowboat. Fishing is catch and release. Papgooi works well in the slow river sections. Confirm the rules with the venue before you fish.
Khomeesdrif sits at the foot of the Sonderend Mountains on Kleinplasie off the R406. Over 40 grassed camping and caravan stands sit under leafy trees beside the river. Two wooden self-catering cottages sleep four or five guests. The site has no electricity on camping stands. Ablution blocks have gas geysers and solar lights. You can swim, float down the river on tractor tubes, or hire canoes and a rowboat. Braai wood is available on request. Well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement. Bring drinking water because the site water is not suitable for drinking.
