Lekoa Lodge is a countryside resort on Farm Wolvenfontein near Villiers in the Free State. Thatched chalets, campsites, and a restaurant sit on the banks of the Vaal River with private dams and long river frontage.
The property has about 25 km of Vaal River frontage and several stocked dams. Bass, carp, barbel, and largemouth yellowfish are caught here. Fishing is free for in-house guests. Day visitors can fish for a fee. Papgooi works on the open banks and dams. Confirm fishing rules and day-visitor access with the venue before you visit.
Lekoa Lodge has family chalets, comfort and standard chalets, an executive suite, and campsites on green lawns near the water. On-site facilities include heated indoor and outdoor pools, a restaurant, braai areas, hiking and biking trails, and a motocross track. The lodge also hosts weddings and conferences. Guests can stay for a weekend break or a longer fishing trip. Kids are welcome. The resort is malaria-free and about 90 minutes from Johannesburg.
