Echo Farm is a rustic riverside campsite about 10 km outside Frankfort on the Wilge River. Day visitors and campers fish for carp, barbel, mudfish, and yellowfish from open banks.
The Wilge River runs through Echo Farm. Carp, barbel, mudfish, and yellowfish are common here. Papgooi from the open banks works well. Catch and release is required on bigmouth yellowfish. Confirm the rules with the venue before you fish.
Echo Farm sits on the Wilge River near Frankfort. The site is off-grid with no electricity. Facilities are basic and rustic. Bring your own bedding, cutlery, toiletries, and lighting. Hot water in the showers is not guaranteed. Kids under seven stay free. Camping and day visits are available. The River Shed and log cabin dorm sleep up to sixteen guests between four and sixteen people booked. The Hermit Hut sleeps five. You can also book the entire river front with all facilities for a private group. The Shack is a separate off-grid riverside unit with a wooden deck, braai, and rocket geyser shower. Day visitors and camping are about R70 per person. The River Shed and log cabin dorm are about R90 per person per night with a four-person minimum. The Hermit Hut is about R500 per night for up to five guests. A full river-front private booking is about R2000 per night. Confirm the price with the venue before you book.
