Aqua-Via Hengel Oord is a fishing resort on the R54 near Villiers in the Free State. Camp on open banks or stay in chalets and rondawels. Bank and specimen carp fishing are both popular here.
The venue has clean bank fishing water with carp, barbel, and yellowfish. Papgooi and specimen carp methods both work. Productive distances are often 30 m to 100 m from the bank. The resort hosts club competitions and weekend events. Confirm the rules with the venue.
Aqua-Via Hengel Oord has 110 camping stands, including 30 caravan bays with taps. There is no mains electricity, but generators are welcome. Ablution blocks and an on-site shop are available. Chalets, wendy houses, and rondawels sleep groups from three to seven people. Bring your own canoe or bicycle to explore the open grounds. Obedient pets are welcome when arranged with management in advance. Day visitors and overnight anglers are both accepted. Camping and caravans are about R60 per day. Wendy houses are about R200 per night for up to three people. Chalets are about R400 per night for up to four. Rondawels are about R500 per night for five or R600 for seven.
