The fishing
The dam holds common and mirror carp, barbel, and kurper. Thirty-seven prepared swims sit on the mountain and town sides of the water. Papgooi and specimen carp fishing both work from the bank. Catch and release applies. Confirm the rules with the venue before you fish.

Die Nyl Dam sits in a fenced biodiversity offset area east of Mokopane. Swims have wooden platforms and bank access. Thirteen furnished chalets sleep up to six guests. Regular and executive units are available. A kiosk and ablutions are on site. Bookings are required before you visit. The venue hosts club, provincial, and international angling events.
