Van Driels Fishing
Van Driels Fishing sits on the Gauteng shore of the Vaaldam near Vaal Marina. Book a waterfront camping stand, a rustic cabin, or a day visit on your own 20-metre bank section.
Van Niekerksrus Resort and Camping is a family resort on the Vaal Dam north of Deneysville. Camp on shaded stands or book a chalet and fish from the open bank.
Anglers fish the shallow Vaal Dam shoreline in front of the resort. Carp are the main target, with barbel and kurper also present. The bank is flat and level, which suits families and bait fishing. Casting far helps in the shallows. A boat can reach deeper water. Papgooi works well here. Confirm the rules with the venue before you fish.
The resort sits on the R549 about 11 km north of Deneysville on the Gauteng shore of the Vaal Dam. Shaded camping stands have electricity and marked spacing between flags. Chalets sleep guests who want a roof over their heads. Ablution blocks, a swimming pool, a kids pool, a playground, an on-site shop, and a boat slipway are on the property. Small dogs are allowed on a leash. Day visitors are welcome for fishing and picnics. Overnight campers can stay on a stand with optional electricity. Cellphone signal is weak on site. WhatsApp may work better than a voice call. Published camping and day rates include about R50 per stand per day, R40 per adult per day, R30 per child aged 5 to 14 per day, R20 per person per night for overnight camping, and R35 per day for electricity. Chalets are about R450 per night or R900 for a Friday to Sunday package. Confirm the price with the venue before you book. Last updated at: 21 September 2026.
