Gauteng, Pretoria East
Tranquil Fly Fishing is a private dam venue east of Pretoria on the Boschkop road. Fly fish for bass and trout by appointment. Families can braai, camp, or book group events.
Several private dams hold bass and trout. Trout season is fly fishing only. Bass season allows artificial lures but no treble hooks or live bait. Catch and release is encouraged. You may keep fish at a per-kilo fee. The venue limits daily anglers so booking ahead matters.
Day fishing runs from about 06:00 to 18:00. Access is by appointment only. Built-in braais and paved seating areas sit beside the dams. Colourful chairs and fire pits suit picnics and small groups. Camping is on open grass with an outdoor bathroom and donkey-heated shower. A small house offers double and single beds. The venue also hosts birthdays, school outings, and bachelor parties. Day fishing is about R200 per adult, R100 for children under 12, and R80 for pensioners. Confirm the price with the venue before you book. Last updated at: 19 September 2026.
