The lodge is on the Komati River at the Crocodile River confluence, about 12 km from Kruger Park and 2.5 km from the Mozambique border. Tigerfish are the main target. The venue supports catch and release only. You can fish from the river bank or book a guided boat trip with rods and bait supplied. Best tiger fishing runs from September to May, but warm weather allows year-round trips. Barbel also occur in the river. Confirm session times with the venue before you book.
River Hill Lodge has single-room hotel chalets and larger self-catering chalets with air conditioning, DSTV, and private braai areas. The property has a swimming pool, licensed bar, restaurant, open-air boma, conference centre, and complimentary WiFi. Sunset cruises and birding walks are also offered. Day visitors are welcome for tiger fishing without staying overnight. Guided morning, afternoon, and full-day fishing sessions include a river guide, rods, bait, and the boat. Self-guided bank fishing is also available on the lodge grounds with braai facilities along the river. A morning or afternoon fishing session is about R650 per adult and R450 per child under 10.
