Nagle Dam and Game Reserve lies in thornveld country between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The reserve has a 6-sleeper Msinsi lodge, 12-sleeper Nagle lodge, 8-sleeper hatchery lodge, and tented accommodation. About 40 non-electrical campsites sit on the water's edge with hot ablutions. Day visitors use picnic lawns and braai areas. A small Umgeni River picnic site has ablutions further inside the park. Wildlife such as zebra and other game roam the reserve. Paddle boats, boating, and canoeing are popular on the dam. The venue can hire out a tent with bed and linen on camping sites. Extra beds can be added in lodges on request. Gate entry is about R30 per adult and R15 per child on the published 2025/2026 tariff. A daily fishing permit is about R60 per adult. Non-electrical camping is about R120 per adult per night in high season and R96 in low season. Nagle lodge starts from about R1,325 per night on the winter special rate.
