Staying at Morgenstond Dam
Morgenstond Dam is public dam water owned by the Department of Water and Sanitation. The wall was completed in 1978 and later renovated. The dam mainly supplies municipal and industrial water for the region. There is no campsite, lodge, or resort on the shoreline. This is not a private fishing venue. Informal bank fishing happens in places when access is allowed. Bring your own tackle, food, and safety gear. Farm roads reach parts of the shore near Amsterdam. Confirm which areas are open before you travel. Day fishing permits and gate fees are not published for casual anglers. Confirm access and any fees with the water authority before you visit.
