Cheerio Trout Fishing is on Cheerio Farm off the R71 between Haenertsburg and Tzaneen. Nine free-standing self-catering cottages range from cosy two-sleeper units to larger family cottages. Forest Cottage and Beefwood Cottage suit bigger groups. Units have braai areas and most use solar power with backup. The resort has a swimming pool, playground, and games room for kids. Mountain biking, birding, and walks are easy from the property. Magoebaskloof Adventures and other area attractions are close by. Check in from 14:00 to 17:00 and check out by 10:00. The office is open Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturday 08:00 to 12:00. Sunday visits need prior arrangement. Kids are welcome. A minimum stay of two nights often applies. Cottages start from about R730 per night for a two-sleeper unit. Larger cottages are about R1 830 to R2 840 per night depending on size. A rod fee applies for trout fishing on the dam.
