Chalets above the main pond | Brookwood Trout Farm - Gauteng - Muldersdrift

Brookwood Trout Farm

Gauteng, Muldersdrift

Brookwood Trout Farm sits in the Cradle of Humankind near Muldersdrift. Five stocked dams and Blaaubwbank River picnic spots give day fishing, braais, and self-catering chalets or camper cabins about an hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria.

The fishing

Brookwood has five stocked dams in a tree-lined valley below the Swartkops and Buffelskop ranges. Carp, kurper, barbel, and bass are the main species. Trout stocking is paused because of municipal water quality. Catch and release applies on all dams. Spin, bait, and fly fishing all work here. Staff help beginners when they are on duty. Benches sit along the banks and parking is close to the water. Rod hire is available on site. Largest recorded fish include carp to 18 kg, bass to 3.6 kg, kurper to 2.2 kg, and barbel to 16 kg. Yellowfish also live in the Blaaubwbank River section. Confirm current species and rules with the venue.
