Aldam Resort sits on Allemanskraal Dam about 10 km off the N1 near Ventersburg. You camp on grass stands or stay in a thatched unit and fish the dam from an open bank.
You fish Allemanskraal Dam from an open resort bank. Carp, barbel and yellowfish live in this water. Bring your own rods and bait. Pap gooi is the usual method here. You may bring a canoe, kayak or boat. Boat and jet ski fees apply. Confirm the fishing rules with the venue.
Aldam Resort is on Willem Pretorius Farm, about 10 km from the N1 and about 28 km from Ventersburg. The caravan park has about 150 grass stands. Each powered stand has a braai and a water tap. Dam stands have no power. Three ablution blocks have toilets, baths, showers and basins. There are about 65 self catering units, from 2 sleeper chalets to family houses. A restaurant looks over the dam. There is a kiosk, a small shop, a sports bar and a swimming pool. Kids have a play park, a baby pool and a super tube. Pets are not allowed. Check in from 14:00. Check out by 10:00. Camping on a powered stand starts at about R235 a night for up to 6 people and 1 vehicle. A dam stand without power starts at about R175.
