Carp Haven is a private specimen carp syndicate north of Bronkhorstspruit on the Highveld. Members fish two lakes with named swims, ablutions, and a hot shower on site.

African Hills is a working farm with private specimen carp and bass dams. You book a numbered swim overnight or fish bass by day.
The fishing
Two specimen carp dams sit on the farm. Top Lake has four swims with ablutions and power points, plus a rustic swim called Kevs Corner with a portable toilet and no electricity. Bottom Lake has space for four swims and portable toilets only. Bottom Lake carp have gone to about 18 kg. Bass fishing is on three other dams, lures only. Pap gooi is not allowed. All fish go back. Confirm the rules with the venue.

Staying at African Hills
African Hills is on Farm Rustfontein next to the R513. Overnight carp anglers may arrive from 09:00 and must leave by 08:00 the next day. The main gate opens at 06:30 and locks at 18:30. You camp on the swim you booked. The four main Top Lake swims have ablutions and power points. Bottom Lake and Kevs Corner use portable toilets. You can also book a picnic or a camp stand that is not for fishing. Pets are welcome. There is a swimming pool and a kiosk on the farm. Pre book meals and braai packs at the cafe. Children may visit. Stay with them near the water. Camping is about R150 a person a night. A picnic day ticket is about R75 a person. Carp swim prices sit on the venue booking page and change by date.
