North West, Potchefstroom, Boskop Dam
The Boathouse is a secluded self-catering cottage on the banks of Boskop Dam, about 10 km from Potchefstroom. It sits next to TangleWood Nature Estate on the R501 toward Carletonville.
Boskop Dam holds bass, carp, barbel and yellowfish. Guests can fish from the private pier in front of the cottage. Shore fishing is allowed. Canoes, kayaks and other human-powered vessels are not allowed on the dam because of stray hippos. Use of the water is at your own risk.
The stone and wood cottage sleeps up to three guests. It has one bedroom with a double bed, a shower bathroom, and an open-plan lounge with a day bed for a third guest. The kitchen has a gas stove, oven, microwave and fridge. Linen is provided. Outside is a braai area and a deck with a pier over the water. The cottage is shaded by old trees and looks across Boskop Dam. Check-in is from 14:00 to 17:00 and check-out is at 10:00. Children under three are not allowed. Pets are not permitted.
