Limpopo, Musina, Schroda Dam
Schroda Dam is a small storage dam inside Mapungubwe National Park near Musina. Tigerfish were stocked here in 2003. Anglers fish catch-and-release for tigerfish on this public park water.
Schroda Dam holds tigerfish and kurper species. The dam is famous for tigerfish that hunt barn swallows over open water. Fishing is catch and release only. Fly fishing and bait fishing both occur here. Confirm park permits, gate times, and fishing rules with the venue before you visit.
Schroda Dam sits in Mapungubwe National Park in northern Limpopo. The dam was built in 1993 as a small storage reservoir. Tigerfish were stocked in 2003 to preserve Limpopo headwater genetics. This is public park water, not a private fishing lodge. There is no campsite or chalet on the dam bank. Day fishing is possible from the shore where park access allows. Mapungubwe rest camps are elsewhere in the park for overnight stays. Conservation fees and any fishing permit costs follow SANParks rules. Day fishing access price not published separately.
