Fishing at Groendraai River Cottages - Shadowleaf
The farm has long stretches of the Sterkstroom and Mokolo rivers. Bass, barbel, and kurper are common. All fishing is catch and release. Popular water includes the main dam in front of the cottages, Annatjie Se Dam, Klipspruit on the Mokolo, and river sections such as Org Se Brug. Bring your own rods, bait, and tackle. Confirm rod limits and access with the venue before you fish.

Each bedroom is furnished with an extra length king size bed, which can be converted into single beds on request. For bookings with fewer than 6 guests, unused bedrooms are closed to ensure guests enjoy the full privacy and spaciousness of the cottage. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped for self catering and includes a gas stove and oven, 2 fridge freezers, microwave, kettle for the gas stove, air fryer, toaster, coffee machine, stick blender, Sodastream, and dishwasher. The lounge area features a gas fireplace, Smart TV, WiFi, and air conditioning for comfortable stays throughout the year. Guests can enjoy outdoor living on the farm stoep with seating, a built-in braai, ceiling fans, and a boma braai area ideal for stargazing. The Kol Kol wood-fired hot tub offers a relaxing experience surrounded by nature. Additional amenities include covered parking for 3 vehicles and board games. Guests can rent 3 kayaks and 6 mountain bikes for a daily fee.
