Flamingo Bay Resort sits on the southern shore of the Vaaldam near Oranjeville in the Free State. Camp, stay in a self-catering villa, or visit for a day of bank fishing for carp and barbel.
Zone 1 is the daily fishing and camping area on the Vaaldam shore. Bank anglers fish open stands with electricity and water points. The dam holds carp and barbel. Papgooi and specimen carp fishing both work here. Zones 2 to 6 are set aside for club and feeder competitions. Confirm the rules with the venue before you fish.
Zone 1 has caravan and tent stands with electricity, water, and braai areas. Two ablution blocks have hot showers, baths, and toilets. Self-catering villas sleep four, six, or ten guests. A small shop stocks basic groceries and fishing dips. A kids play area sits near the main camping zone. Day visitors can fish and picnic on the dam bank. Summer day access runs 06:00 to 19:00. Winter day access runs 07:00 to 17:00. No pets are allowed on the property. Camping stands are about R200 per night plus per-person fees. Day fishing is about R100 per adult.
