Bloempoort Hunting & Fishing sits on a 1000 ha bushveld farm just outside Groblersdal. A private dam holds bass, carp, kurper and barbel. Self-catering lapa and wood cabins look over the water.
The fishing
The private dam is mostly catch and release. Bass, carp, kurper and barbel are common. Rocks and tree stumps give structure, with open water for carp anglers. Rowing boats are available. You can bring your own rowing boat. Motorised boats are not allowed. Swimming in the dam is safe. Confirm the rules with the venue.

Staying at Bloempoort Jag En Hengel
Bloempoort sits just outside Groblersdal in Limpopo on a 1000 ha mixed bushveld farm. The lapa sleeps up to 17 guests in eight rooms with dam views. Linen and a fully equipped kitchen are provided. Inside and outside braai areas are on site. Separate men's and women's ablutions are available. Wood cabins sleep eight guests in two rooms with four single bunker beds per room. They are primitively equipped. Bring your own bedding, towels, toiletries, crockery and pots. A fridge and two-plate gas stove are in each cabin. The Rooiboshuis is a three-bedroom furnished house for six adults and two children. Confirm Rooiboshuis availability with the venue. Fishing is for overnight guests only. Day visitors are not allowed. Rowing boats are on site. Bring your own oars or hire oars at the venue. Lapa rates are about R250 per adult per night and R125 per child aged 4 to 14. Children under 4 stay free. Wood cabin rates are about R150 per adult per night and R55 per child aged 4 to 14. Children under 4 stay free. Confirm the price with the venue before you book.
